"wordpress-3.9-news"WordPress continue with their updates and improvements for users old and new with the introduction of the new WordPress 3.9 version.

WordPress 3.9 is already available for anyone who uses the site to power their own blog or website and the updates and all the new features can be made available by simply downloading the new version of WordPress directly from the main dashboard when you log in if you are already a WordPress user while it will automatically install for anyone starting out with WordPress.

This new WordPress version is a total redesign of the old WordPress and has been named Smith in honour of the jazz musician Jimmy Smith.

The announcement from WordPress says that they hope that the new version will allow for a “smoother media editing experience” which basically translates into the fact that you will now be able to see how your post is going to look before it is published much easier than before.

Some of the improvements to the new version include better visual editing: “The updated visual editor has improved speed, accessibility, and mobile support. You can paste into the visual editor from your word processor without wasting time to clean up messy styling. (Yeah, we’re talking about you, Microsoft Word.)”

While you will also be able to edit your images more smoothly: “With quicker access to crop and rotation tools, it’s now much easier to edit your images while editing posts. You can also scale images directly in the editor to find just the right fit.”  And there is an easy drag and drop function for anyone making galleries to show on their site.

The audio and video in this version have also been updated and tweaked for easier all round use while it is now easier than ever to rearrange widgets and themes with an improved header image tool to allow the upload, crop and management of headers within your own customised theme.

WordPress are constantly providing new and improved features for users, not only when it comes to the look of the sites but also in relation to security updates and tools for making life generally easier for anyone who is using a WordPress site to host their blog or website.

Tweaks such as allowing for easy upload of text from Microsoft Word will go a long way to making users very happy with WordPress and shows that those behind WordPress continue to listen to the needs of their users to make the entire WordPress experience fun, enjoyable and as easy as possible to use either on a home computer, laptop and increasingly so on mobile devices.
