"wordpress-android-app-news"With WordPress being one of the most popular platforms for blogging and websites in the world it comes as no surprise that the team behind WordPress are working on improvements all the time for their users with the latest being for those who use the WordPress Android App.

More and more people are now using their mobile devices to access sites on the internet and this number is set to rise and even overtake desktop users in the very near future.  Increasingly people are using their smartphones and tablets to keep up to date with friends through social media, buy goods online and read their favourite blogs and websites so it essential that WordPress keep ahead of thee game in this essential market.

While WordPress is a favourite on the desktop and laptop computers it has to be admitted that the interface that is used for mobile devices, while functional, is hardly ground braking by any means.

Even if many people still use their laptops and desktop computers for the majority of the uploading of content onto their WordPress sites the mobile version would be handy for making little changes and edits while on the move.

The updates to the WordPress Android App Version 2.7 are far from amazing but they are certainly a step in the right direction and anyone who is a regular user of the WordPress sites on a mobile device should be pretty happy with some of the changes that have been implemented.

Like many other mobile sites there is now no longer a refresh button – instead it is like many other sites and you simply have to pull down to refresh.  A simple change that just makes everyones life that little bit easier!

Another great little change is the introduction of the infinite scroll rather than having to click on the “load more” button at the bottom of the page to be able to see more posts.  This again is not a massive change but it does just sped up the use of the app and makes reading sites online more user friendly.

Finally there have been a number of other little changes to the WordPress Android App Version 2.7 to help speed up the whole loading time of the pages and also some updates to the statistics pages for those wanting to see who is having a look at what and when.

The world of the internet is really moving from the desktop to the mobile and WordPress are showing that they have recognised this with these few changes but more will have to be made if WordPress users are to get the best possible mobile experience – let’s hope there are many more updates in the pipeline from our WordPress friends.
